As we move deeper into 2025, the Mintlayer team continues to refine the core infrastructure and tools that will power Bitcoin-native DeFi. This month, much of our work has focused on wallet optimizations, dApp-ready features, and preparing our Token Factory for broader access for other ecosystem projects.
Wallet Enhancements & SDK Integration
Significant progress was made on the Mojito Wallet, particularly the browser extension. Key improvements include:
- Optimized network request handling through a new backend layer for improved responsiveness
- SDK integration to handle both internal and external transactions
- Early-stage development of token swapping functionality based on order books
- Continued UI/UX refinement for a smoother experience
These changes aim to provide seamless, dApp-ready interaction with Mintlayer’s features — including upcoming Atomic Swaps and RWAs.
JavaScript SDK: Evolving Developer Toolkit
Our JavaScript SDK is under active development to support full-stack dApp development. We’re continuously expanding its capabilities to cover everything developers need to integrate wallets, build transactions, and support cross-chain features like HTLC swaps (Atomic Swaps).
Token Factory in Beta
The Token Factory is currently in beta testing — providing a user-friendly interface to create and manage MLS-01/MLS-03 tokens. Wallet integration is underway, and real-world usage through ecosystem partner dApps will help refine the final release.
Cross-Chain Bridge
Key updates to the Mintlayer ↔ Ethereum Bridge this month include:
- SDK integration to streamline Mojito Wallet connections
- Support for Mintlayer-to-Ethereum asset swaps in final testing
- Ongoing optimization and codebase refactoring
These upgrades aim to make cross-chain interactions more secure, efficient, and user-friendly. Helping to build a link from Mintlayer to Ethereum and Bitcoin.
Core Node
Work continues on the next Mintlayer Core Node release, which will include performance improvements and features for enhanced testnet functionality. A new version is expected in the coming months.
Wrapping Up
From tokenization tools to swap-ready wallet improvements, the Mintlayer development stack is advancing rapidly. These upgrades are paving the way for ecosystem partners to build Bitcoin-native dApps, decentralized exchanges, and institutional-grade token issuance — all while preserving the core principles of self-custody and trustless design.
